Green and Ethical Month

We’ve just heard about the British Library’s Green and Ethical Month, specifially the events run by a law firm – interesting combination there. We’d love to go, but in green terms we couldn’t justify the travel.

We don’t bang on about it, but Open Source software is very ethical, and as 99% of our work is done from a home base via an internet connection, we’re as squeaky green as it gets. We’re delighted to hear about Green and Ethical Month and hope it really delivers, but at OpenSure every month is both green and ethical.

Blooming recession

I’ve just been reading this article on Startup Donut about starting a business during a recession. It’s a slightly different situation for us as we’re not strictly speaking a start-up, but a recession is the ideal time to launch our sort of service, as coming to OpenSure should save a company more than it costs it. You can’t get much more cost-effective than free software, and paying OpenSure to advise, provide support and look after servers is never going to cost as much as reams of software licenses. Reducing your costs and increasing the level of service you receive has to be a good move for businesses during a recession.
